Even more details

As you know, our wedding is coming up alarmingly quickly, and we hope you're as excited as we are!

Below are some more details and clarifications of the plans for the weekend.

Friday

This is entirely optional, and is mainly designed to be a convenience for guests from further away, so they don't have to journey on Saturday morning.

  • A meal will be arranged for those who signed up - this will be a chilli, served at 8pm to give people time to arrive.

  • As it's not part of the official wedding proceedings, we kindly ask that you cover the cost of this meal (£11pp). We’ll send bank details in an email soon.

  • Dulcie won't be there, but Matt will!

Saturday (t h e b i g d a y)

  • Woodfired showers and free breakfast will be available to guests who stayed on the farm. We will have set up an area for getting ready, with mirrors, hairdryers, lamps, tables and chairs.

  • Farm residents should plan their journey to Frome Town Hall with plenty of time to drive (25 minutes if no traffic), sort out parking and walk to the venue. As such, we suggest leaving around 10am. Please try to carpool as much as possible!

  • The ceremony will start at Frome Town Hall at 11am, so please aim to be there with plenty of time.

  • Keep in mind when planning your journey that parking is likely to be an issue, as there is only space for 7 cars in the town hall car park, which we would prefer to be left for family and ourselves if possible. You may find nearby street parking, or you can go to one of the car parks in Frome. The largest is Market Yard, which would then be a 10 minute walk up the hill, so consider your footwear and the weather!

  • We've gone for a simple ceremony that is as laid-back as possible. It’ll take about 20 minutes, and we’d prefer for there to be no photography or filming.

  • 11:30: you can throw confetti at us on the Town Hall steps, where the very happy couple (that’s us) will then take a few pictures with family - the rest of you can head back to the Farm, where a cocktail (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available) will await you!

Saturday Part 2: The Reception Bit

  • Parking at the Farm is in a field by the entrance (which we will signpost).

  • When we get to the farm, we'll take more pictures with the with bridesmaids and groomsmen and the whole group. Our lovely photographer Charlie will be attempting to herd people for this section, so try not to drift too far.

  • The wedding "breakfast" will be dinner-sized and at lunch time (1:30pm), so very confusing. We're having a large veggie paella! There will be options for all dietary requirements.

  • After whatever you want to call that meal, there will be time to relax, have a mingle, play some lawn games, etc. We obviously want to catch up with you all!

  • If you are arriving on Saturday to stay overnight on the farm, this would be a good time for tent setup shenanigans!

  • This will be interrupted around 4pm for cake, served with bubbly/coffee/tea/elderflower.

  • Un-regimented nice times will then continue.

  • 6:30pm: buffet-style dinner (wraps, salads, cheeses, etc)

  • 7pm: DVD horse racing! Video footage of six real horse races will be projected onto a wall in the barn. You will each have fake money to gamble - the person with the most at the end will win a prize! Each race only lasts a few minutes, but you will have 15 minutes or so between each one to collect winnings (if you're lucky), consider the odds and place bets on the next.

  • After the prize-giving ceremony, we will have a bit of a dance. We're not planning a first dance (too emotional, not enough dance skills), so please join us immediately for a boogie!

  • At dusk, we will have a fire pit with hot chocolates and marshmallows.

  • There is an amplified music curfew of 11pm, but no pressure to go to bed!

Sunday

  • Woodfired showers and free breakfast will be available to guests who stayed on the farm.

  • You are all invited to join us for a final send-off on the farm! At around 12 we’ll head off to the Center Parcs Spa for an indulgent break.

  • At this point some of our friends and family will stay behind to help take down decorations and pack away anything we brought. If you’re available and fancy helping, it’d be greatly appreciated - but feel free to head off whenever suits you best!

We’re really looking forward to spending the weekend with you all!
